We Climbed The Hill Poem by Edwina Reizer

We Climbed The Hill

We climbed the hill
and then came the thrill
that lasted with excitement just until
the end of the climb,
the end of our time, together.

We descended the hill.
Then swallowed the bitter pill
that burned out the excitement and the thrill,
the end of the descent
and what it meant to be alone.
