We Hypocrites - Poem by nawang lamo

we are afraid of him,
we behave as hypocrites,
he is watching us everytime,
even in our dreams,
so why behave as a saint before him?

more than a lord,
he is a friend to us

a friend who knows all our secrets,
a friend who never stabs back,
a friend who never hesitates to tell we are wrong,
a friend who, when needed, gives us a good whack.

he rewards us when we are good,
doent matter if tomorrow or a decade later
he punishes us when we are bad,
doesnt matter if tomorrow or a decade later

still we forget him at the time of rewards
and sulk for punishments for our own deeds

more than a lord,
he is a mentor to us.

he believes we are meant to have a special life,
so he gives us pain now,
so that we can know the true value of the special life.

he knows our path will not be easy ahead,
so he gives us more troubles now,
instead of making our path easier,
so that we grow up not to be fragile.

we fail to understand his way of blessing us,
and think he enjoys seeing us tortured
at that time where the mightiness goes?
dont we forget all our vows? ?

when we boast about our love,
he tests us to make sure,
that a genuine couple are helped and blessed.

but we break down,
and blame him.
we fail in our test,
and still reproach him for not helping us.

we are afraid of him,
we behave as hypocrites,
he is watching us everytime,
even in our dreams,
so why behave as a saint before him?
