Whose Life Is Vain? Poem by nawang lamo

Whose Life Is Vain?

dont want to be an engineer,
dont want to marry katy,
but who will earn for the family?
who will answer the society?

The trees dont want to be funiture,
the turkeys dont want to be a dish,
but what about the thanksgiving party?
how can we hold a feast?

service period is going to finish,
want to be promoted soon,
but what about the boss?
for the junior officer he is a boon!

the cow wants to feed her 'child',
the cat wants to raise her'child'
but where is the milk for little wilson?
and what will be a'toy' for my son?

so much cries are there in life!
so much compromises!
why to worry about material things?
you count them amongst living beings?

our life matters the most,
its only us who bear the pain,
even if a mother and a child are seperated,
if not us, it is a vain.
