We Keep Crossing The Line In Survival Stakes Poem by Terence George Craddock

We Keep Crossing The Line In Survival Stakes

we keep crossing the line
like a rip tide caught swimmer
exhausted by tested effort
with leaf limbs we stagger out
of cold current relentless flow
desperately spent collapse rest
upon the far reached siren shore
getting up with slow determination
turn return to the turning tide
to finish life mass marathon
journey stroke by stroke
day by day swimming the tide
until our journey is finally done
we are humanity swimming for survival
