We Lucky Few Poem by Paul Warren

We Lucky Few

We who wore the blue
Who calmly stood hardy too
Answering the call when needed
Defeating evil when exceeded

We lucky few of sisters and brothers
Who leant a shoulder for each other
A band of friends each being true
As others wish they'd been with us too.
