We Prefer The Mystery Of Our Faith Poem by RIC BASTASA

We Prefer The Mystery Of Our Faith

we always want to like
what we do not understand
what we understand most
becomes too familiar
and true to the saying what is
too familiar
becomes contemptible
we prefer the mystery of our
faith
and to keep us alive
we begin to refuse to understand
afraid that soon
nothing is interesting anymore
