We Receive From Life Poem by Francis Duggan

We receive from life what is only our due
Some times may be so but is not always true
I have known people who have worked hard beyond their lives prime
And have retired with little to show for their time
To be wealthy and famous some luck one does need
Without ii in life it is hard to succeed
It is a tough climb to success from poverty
That few do succeed in doing is how it seems to be
And though losing is a thing anyone does not choose
For one to win big many have to lose
This is how it is and how it will stay
As sure as tomorrow will follow today
What we receive from life is not always our due
This is something that does happen for to be true.
