We, The Void Poem by Rajarshi Batabyal

Unified in our souls,
Traversing incessantly towards the unknown
Realms beyond reality,
Where the universe is ruled by monstrosities,
Unsettling the very cores of our inner beings.
Where the immortal creatures feed on our fears,
And ravens scavenge upon the remnant happiness.

We realise,
The concepts of truth and lies,
Are nothing but mere illusions
Progenies of baseless social foundations.

We travel,
Heady and intoxicated,
With the path disappearing behind us,
Into an unfathomable void.
As we look ahead,
Through the smog conceived by hesitation,
The ruler of the land beckons us,
While still devouring on the conscience,
Of other unfortunate travelers.

When we eventually reach the summit,
We are embraced by an omnipresent calm,
Soothing our frightened souls.
Our inner fears ebbing away,
With every step we take,
The breeze becoming cooler,
Purging us of all the doubts,
That had been disturbing us.
Gradually,
We could feel our bodies
Being sucked into the overpowering darkness,
The vacuum eating up our consciousness,
We delve deeper into the abyss,
And finally we are absorbed into the Void.
