WE WILL NEVER BE AS GREAT AS OTHERS HAVE BEEN

We will never be as great as others have been
I will not be
There have been truly great people in the world
Inspiring by their courageous deeds
Or by the power and beauty of what they have made
I wanted to be one of them
I did not come close
But at least I can still enjoy and appreciate
What they have been
Oh greatness of humanity
Real and true
Even if it is not mine
