Wear The Mask Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Wear The Mask

Rating: 4.5

Fantasy
favorites
necessarily
needing love
played it rough
this world sleeps
and dismay, sweeps
away the dreaming of
all things; that do dream.
Swept away, is the drumming
the calling, the harmony, the calming
these very things which pleasantries itch
when the scratching which each is catching
settles in and one's mind begins to twitch.
And that twitching settles in… wave after
rising wave… in a rabid frightening load
of instantaneous lightening striking at
every truth hidden within every mind.
And every mind unsettled, every thought
beguiled, every opening eye smitten, every
experience regretting, every sorrow tainted
every I'm sorry belated, every sigh of breath
bated to kill… So, wear the mask…
