Weight Of Love Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Weight Of Love

Over the past few years, I've gained some weight,
And it's been increasing at an alarming rate.
I think that I know the reason why,
And my version may make you sigh.

I think that I have nearly doubled in size,
And it's because I've come to realize,
I have so much love for my wife to express,
That it has been building up in excess.

I'm surprised that I'm not bigger than this,
Because my love grows with every little kiss.
My love is increasing there is no doubt,
So, there must be too much for me to let out.

My body has expanded to hold my love,
Because for her I can never have enough.
If her love is the reason for the amount I weigh,
Then I wouldn't want to have it any other way.
