Welcome Away Poem by Airda Jones

Welcome Away

I want to come home
But not to this mess
Everyone else gets the love
While I get what's left

I leave to get away
To revive my soul with him
Hoping to come back
To the same sort of welcome

But its not that way
No smile and no light
I come home to cold
And complete darkness in the night

As the days wander on
I find myself staying
Closer and longer with him
In a sense, delaying

So I don't have to hear the jokes
Or the mumbled rejoice
When I come home without that smile
You see, its because I have no choice.
