Welcome Back Poem by Jyotishman Debnath

Welcome Back

It has been long since we have met
there was a time
when you were closer
the cigarettes in my pocket
used to seek the address of my lips
and now I just remember ashtrays

when you come, I just remember the stories
one by one
the restless days get calm
in the shed of evening
like a breath speaking love
yours and mine
when you come I just remember the stories
some times a poem
dances like a peacock in my lips

ands now memories are like letters
a life time is needed to finish it
inside the heart
pillar by pillar
the ruin of it's rhythm

when you come
In my palm i hold
a poem bright like sunshine
blue like ocean
which is never get fade
neither in rain
nor in spring

it has been long since we have met
and I remember some stories
after a long time

I have lighten up a cigarette
knowing you are coming my way
with a thirst I 'm waiting for you

O' grief welcome back!
