Exhausted and exhilarated
I let my head fall back...
I hear you crying in some one else's arms
The warmth permeating my heart
Wants to wrap you up..
Keep you safe. You are mine.
And I think
Welcome to the world Little One.

For years I have prayed for you,
Wished for you,
And now, labored for you.
But I would do it all again
Endure the time,
The fear and tears
Just to get to say,
Welcome to the world Little One!

The moment has come!
I hold you in my arms.
My heart is bursting with pride
As I look at your beautiful face!
The joyful tears in my eyes
Splash onto your cheeks
And mingle with your own.
I smile.
