What A Swallow? Poem by Anton Asukile

What A Swallow?

WHAT A SWALLOW?

I stood there wondering,
How can this sea rejoice of this.! !
If only she would have grasped,
that it's more than just a 777.
She would have vomited out that same morning,
a triple hundred souls wrapped on board.

If only the far-west Indonesian sea would have sympathy,
She would have not shouted 'what a swallow....! '
when the MH370 was passing through her throat.

Now it's too late either, shame on you sea.
Is your belly now full?
Perhaps you will swallow no more,
any vessel and flying balloon!
