What About Her? Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

What About Her?

What about her?

I, poet, have a heart different.

I think of pregnant girlfriend
-involved in accident…
-is not same with police and doctors,
-to lawyers, garages and dentures,
-tow-truck drivers, insurance,
- (all of them vampires…)

I think of the guy who hit me hard
- "What was missed, what went wrong?
-Why did he, not hear the siren? "
- (It was loud, I stopped, he did not!)

Were the two flirting?
-Or were they resolving
-daily life problems?
-Or were they, in a way
-angry and fighting?

We waited for long for
-police who did not care
-to come and write report.

She rested her hand on
-her tummy, swollen…

Yes, she was pregnant…

My heart keeps beating, I
-am haunted and hunted
-with social behaviours
- (that she is a woman)
-I cannot…

Business it is for
-the mentioned, unmentioned
-involved in accident…

But my heart is with girl.

Well written poem. Social behaviours are almost always inexplicable...
