What Are Apple-Blossoms Made Of (Tu B'shvat) ? By Eli Spivakovsky

Cinnamon stick
Vanilla bean
frost
snow
ice-puddles
icing sugar
diamond flint
sea-foam
etherealities
soft, edible cake-sparkle
flint of sparklers
the air itself:
all is contained in a recipe for a tree *
dark blossoms *
refract light *
and it glows into the night
fuschia leaves *
buds of pollinated calyx *
stamen of star-crossed lovers*
she waits for him by the tree
their
love
floats upwards
and gets caught
on the branch
the tree blossoms
throughout summer
and they wait until next Spring
and bind with *
the sapling *
on its birthday *
