What Couldn'T Be Poem by Edwina Reizer

What Couldn'T Be

I wish I never had to cry
as I reflect back and wonder why
a love like ours could not blossom
and was allowed by fate to die?

Does not seem fair for I loved you so
and to know I had to let love go
is a blow I have to deal with
and the time it will take moves so slow.

I think about what couldn't be
and hope someday love will set me free.
It must not chain me or my heart.
This cannot be my destiny.

For I was born to sing and write
on every day and every night.
And your love has opened every avenue
to let the words and songs unite
as a memory of what couldn't be.
