What Do I See, I See, I See (Animal Rights) Poem by Selina Gurgacz

What Do I See, I See, I See (Animal Rights)

What do I see, I see, I see.
I see a sea, the beach, the waves,
I see the rocky landscape, full of different shapes.
I see the green grasses of the meadow,
The daffodils, the tulips, the roses, the sunflowers.
The birds in the sky and the fish in the sea,
The people on the earth who don’t care about these things.
Leave scraps on the ground, and plastic bags too.
Rubbish in the oceans, do these people care?
The killing of dolphins, of whales, of birds.
I can see them dying,
I can see them suffering.
I can see their hurt.
I can feel their grief.
I can see their happiness,
I can see their joys,
Their care free lives,
Until it changes to,
Sadness,
Pain,
Death,
Destruction.
Animals are living things too,
They are just the same as the people on the earth.
If you could see what I see.
