What Happened To Freedom Poem by Jon M. Nelson

What ever happened to our freedom?
I guess it now only applies to some.
What happened to our right to bear arms,
To help protect ourselves from harm?

What happened to freedom of religion?
I guess now it may be just an illusion.
We no longer worship the way we choose,
If you try to battle it, you'll always lose.

What happened to freedom of the press?
Only certain groups are now able to confess.
They only print what they want you to read,
We're never given the information we need.

Of course there's no more freedom of speech,
No longer able to say what you want to preach.
They always edit what you want to say,
Now tell me how is that the American way?

Many have died to protect this great nation,
But lately it seems like some kind of abomination.
Everything now has to be politically correct,
No wonder we've lost the ability to reconnect
