What Happens In The Wee Hours Poem by Jackie Chou

What Happens In The Wee Hours

She bangs on the door at 2 a.m.
Will you open it for her?
She has forgotten her keys.
Will you do the tango with her,
While you're at it?
She dances through the night.

She can't find her phone,
Will you call it,
To see where it is?
Record her singing a song,
While you're at it?
She's an American Idol hopeful.

Might as well do her laundry,
Since you're already awake,
Listen to her problems,
While you separate the delicates.

After all, she wears the innocent smile,
Of a randomly assigned roommate.
