What I Never Meant Poem by Belle Violet

What I Never Meant

My love,
I do
apologize
for looking deep into your eyes,
and falling for
that honey hue
that made me fall in love with you.
Baby, forgive me
when I say
that I could spend entire days
against your chest,
in your embrace,
and still call it my favorite place.
Darling, beg your
pardon, please.
I never thought
that you would leave.
I'll clutch my pilllow to me, tight,
and miss you
each and every night.
Remember kisses in the snow,
and wonder why
I let you go.
The only thing I meant to do
was never fall
in love with you.

In hindsight, love often looks like a stranger....what a lovely reminder you have scripted here. Your flair for capturing emotions, seemingly so personal an private, akin to the hearts of many. Good work, poet friend. PEACE
