What Is A Poem? Poem by Praveen Kumar In Shobha Priya

What Is A Poem?

Poem is verbal flow
Eased with soul's glow,
Rich in inner pitch;
Soul invests music,
Soul invests fabric
Of lingual brilliance
To flash insights
Like thunderous lightening
From the womb of dark clouds
Of dissembled diverse thoughts
In a windy rainy night.

Poem is the queen on throne
In brilliance of freshness,
Poem is from poet's soul
Airing insights
Moulded in orchestra
Of rhythms and rhymes
In consonance with insight.

Not mere thoughts,
But sheer light bursts;
Not sheer words,
But clear grasps,
Poems in form, pure bliss,
In content, it is like kiss,
A heart to heart bridge.

A sculpture out of words,
Poems fly like birds
Around human worlds
And bond heart to heart;
Poems, binding force,
Poems open eyes,
Unveils inner truth.

Insight's meteors are poems,
Caught in abstract thoughts,
Knitted with right words
In arousing pitch of rhythms
As sightful paintings on show;
It is a flash from soul to soul,
A subtle communion.

Poems are simple, yet complex,
Structures of stone and wood,
And glass, lime and sand
In rightful share
To bring perfect flair;
Anything goes amiss,
Alas, the edifice falls.

Poem, not handmaid
On poet's will and hold;
She unveils at her will
While you awake or asleep;
She is the queen on throne,
She is in total reign
And holds the rein in hands;
You greet when she appears,
Guide her to words' throne,
And worship in the soul
To bless you with right light.
