What Is Love? Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

What Is Love?

Love always is patient,
Is truthful and kind.
It always turns a blind eye
To any faults you may find.

Love never is envious,
Or lies with a toast.
It also shall never
Be caught in a boast.

Love keeps no records
Of wrongs that were done,
Is not easily angered,
Self seeking or proud.

Love does rejoice
When the truth is supplied.
It always protects,
Perseveres, hopes, delights.

What never fails?
Faith, hope, and love.
But the greatest of all these
The Good Book calls LOVE!

Verses these words are based on
Are simple yet so true.
Even more profound is the truth
Of God’s eternal love for you!
