What Is Politics Poem by Francis Duggan

What is politics if not a game of people control
By those who try to draw the curtains of the windows to your soul
They even tell you on Post Election night
That they alone for you know what is right,
They lie to us and we believe their lies
We who think we are knowledgeable and wise
We should not believe half of the things they say
Yet to them we give some of our power away,
Of the power they wield they very well may boast
But tis what they stand for i dislike the most
And though few of them one could ever wish to celebrate
As individuals them i do not hate
And when i say i dislike what they stand for and nothing more
I am only quoting what I've said before.
