What's In Your Name? Poem by Dr John Celes

What's In Your Name?

Oh, what a lovely name, so dear,
Your parents gave to you!
It sounds so nice to every ear,
And matches things you do.

And God helped them to choose your name,
And you lived up to it;
As reared by them, you rose to fame,
And did things that befit.

Your name is sweet, so is your heart;
In life, you played your role;
Most things you love to do by art,
In keeping with life's goal.

A name is important on earth,
And you are known by it;
You learn to love it from your birth,
In it, your mind, soul fit.

So glorious is your name you got;
'Twas coined for you just right;
It helps to change you and your lot,
And makes life's burden light.
