What’s That? Poem by Brian Taylor

What’s That?

What’s that?
“An insect.”
An insect? That!
Dragging a fly
along a stalk
with a buzz and crackle that fills a world
down there. That?
Your “insect” is in a glass case
on the table,
dried out to illustrate its label.

Between insect and word
another insect.
Between word and insect
another word.
