What Title Do You Give Death? Poem by Fallen Too Far

What Title Do You Give Death?

Rating: 2.8

Leaves dance by, leaving behind some sorrow
Laughing in the wind, careless in their roaming
Tears flow down my mind to remember that day
Looking out my window
I see that window of her hospital room
I look out and see those same leaves
Hope softly drowns
In IVs and sympathy cards
She lays there
And wishes she weren't there
We cling to her, not letting her go
But she slips away anyway
Months fly away swift, taking her with them
Cold January morning
I wake up
And I know.
My head is screaming
My eyes are blurring
My feet are moving
My heart is breaking
My brain, though, cannot and will not
Understand
She lays there
Without moving
Her soul has expired
Leaving only a note,
'If I die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
I love you all so much.'
