What To Do? Poem by Paul WilsonSuffield

What To Do?

I cannot offer you, all the good things
Like money, houses, cars or diamond rings.
All I can give you are the things you have lost
Like honesty, understanding and most of all trust.
I don’t know how I feel, but the connection is there
And the time is right, for my soul to bare.
So as we proceed, down the road of life
My heart you won’t cut, with an emotional knife.
You’re amazing to be with, if as only a friend
But you need someone to lean on, or at least depend.
If what stops you is the fact that I am only small
The care I can give is a thousand foot tall.
Don’t judge by the cover, what a book holds inside
Each page an emotion, that I don’t want to hide.
Life is really simple, but decisions are tough
Am I ready for commitment? Can I love enough?
These questions you should ask, as we’ve been there before
Once again like you, my heart is still raw.
