What We See In Others Poem by Francis Duggan

What We See In Others

You can make the World to live in a beautiful place
And you can see beauty in what to most is an ugly face
What we see in others is what we wish to see
At least anyhow that's how it seems to me
We all look at things one might say differently
This is how it is and it always will be
Show others a rose some will say it is a weed
We are all very different quite different indeed
If negative feelings are clouding your mind
What you look for in others you are bound to find
You cannot be wrong if you think you are right
But when we speak ill of others our own flaws we highlight
I have never been one of the enlightened few
But to that one might add tell us something that's new.
