Maybe I’m a simple silly old soul
There’s something I miss to make me whole
I’m scared, tired of staying totally all alone
Stuck here being totally isolated forlone
Its not a great extravagant passion I want
For that most people me would taunt
I don’t mean someone buying roses all the time
Whisking me off to glamorous dinners with wine
I mean to find real true genuine company
Simple friendship love would mean so much to me
If I got really lucky some true companionship
I’m sorry if now to you I sound a real drip
Maybe an occasional hug for no reason in the morning
Perhaps a welcoming smile when from work I come in
A strong shoulder to lie on when things get bad
Someone to share things with happy and sad
Someone to laugh with at things we find funny
That what would bring real happiness to me
