What You Seek Poem by Randy McClave

What You Seek

You say that you're too young for God to seek
Instead others you look for this week,
And to many others you will happily search
But, not one inquiry will be in a church.
So, you think what do you need God for.

To seek God, you're too independent you say
You now are free to do as you want on any given day,
You do and think what is your very will
And you do whatever you want for excitement or for a thrill.
You are independent and as free as a wild boar.

To seek God, but why, you are now way to happy
You are not sad or depressed and not feeling crappy,
You know that this feeling will last you forever
Your sadness now is lighter than any feather.
And for personal joy you always find more.

To seek God you are now way to busy
And your life is just to hectic as you say, "Also Is He",
Seemingly you say you never have a free minute
You have finally reached your exhaustion limit.
But, for new endeavors you still search and explore.

To seek God you are now way to tired
To many adventures and quests you have acquired,
Now from the last adventure and your latest quest
You just need and want to rest.
Your strength and vitality you need to restore.

You didn't sought the Lord while he was around
You never called upon him when you needed to be found,
Now soon, very soon death will be your final journey and date
Then for your soul and salvation it will be too late.
Because God will have closed the door.
