What You've Got To Do Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

What You've Got To Do

Do it at the right period
What you've got to do
When its still fresh in your mind
Let your deeds bear good fruit
Do not be like those that easily forget
Think also of the living
The manner you make wishes
And lavish earthly treasures on the dead
The ones that lie and refuse wake
Redeem also their souls;
The ones whose heart have flee from their inner being
all as a result of incapacitation
Help them reduce the pressures they go through
And unending nightmares
Do not add to their grief
If you've got nothing tangible to render.
