When A Boy Was A Man; Poem by Tony Cemaluk Egbuonu

When A Boy Was A Man;

A child is the father or mother of a man or woman.
Long ago the boy became a man,
yet stayed a mere boy.

A mere boy
with badges of honor
unassailable to the avowed man. The full men.

Web of Science, the reputable sought after, Clarivate acclaimed the mere boy:
Top Peer Reviewer.
Academy Mentor.
Excellent Reviewer.

Trifles at home,
worldwide acclaim abroad —
for the censored service to science academic
who is who beyond the reach of full men at home.
