When Age Does Peg Its Territory Off - Poem by Gert Strydom

When age does peg its territory off
and does emphasize or colour life,
does even set how incidents do happen
then at times a person cannot win against the onslaught

when destiny does settle its account with you
and does throw about your whole life randomly.
When age does peg its territory off
and does emphasize or colour life,

it is as if you do not know your self anymore,
are not even aware of the smell of the flowers,
while your world is torn apart bit by bit
when you try to write your last thoughts down
when age does peg its territory off.
and does emphasize or colour life.
