When Dawn Knocks Poem by Rajendra Prasad Meena Jaipur India

When Dawn Knocks

Before the world awakens from the arms of night,
When darkness slowly loosens its fading hold,
The eastern sky begins to breathe with light,
And dawn unfolds its story, soft and gold.

Upon the quiet rooftop, I sit alone,
While gentle winds pass softly through the air;
The sleeping world has not yet claimed its own,
And morning leaves a fragrance everywhere.

The birds begin their music in the trees,
As if they know the secret of the day;
Their little songs are carried by the breeze,
And call the sleeping hearts to rise and wake.

The rising sun appears beyond the land,
A golden lamp above the silent earth;
Its first warm rays stretch out like a hand,
And whisper, "Wake—discover your own worth."

The dawn does not command with noise or force;
It simply comes, and quietly reveals
That every day begins another course,
And every morning brings a chance to heal.

The cool wind touches both the heart and mind,
And leaves a freshness words can scarcely say;
In peaceful air, new thoughts are born and find
A path toward dreams that waited for the day.

The streets are still; the houses breathe in peace,
The roofs are washed with tender morning light;
For just a while, the restless noises cease,
And earth seems newly born from silent night.

But soon the world will rise and hurry on—
The worker, student, farmer, dreamer too;
The morning will become the busy dawn,
And countless duties wait for all to do.

So rise before the crowd begins to move,
Before the precious hours begin to fly;
Give time to learning, thinking, work, and truth—
And let your sleeping dreams begin to rise.

For time is not a river we can turn,
Nor is tomorrow something we can own;
Each passing moment has a lesson to learn,
And every wasted hour is forever gone.

Life may be short, and often hard and steep;
The road may test the courage of the soul;
But those who rise while others remain asleep
Can take one more brave step toward their goal.

So when the morning whispers through your door,
And sunlight paints the walls with shades of gold,
Do not return to yesterday once more—
Step forward while the morning is still young.

Rise with the dawn; let knowledge be your guide,
Let discipline become your quiet flame;
Let every sunrise awaken you inside,
And make your actions worthy of your name.

For dawn will come whether you are prepared,
The sun will rise whether you work or wait;
But time will never pause because you cared—
It moves beyond the reach of human fate.

So rise, begin, and make the morning yours;
The day is waiting at your open door.
For life is short, and time waits for no one—
Wake with the dawn, and let your work be done.
