When Eyes See The Ears Poem by Qiniso Mogale

When Eyes See The Ears

When what is not normal is seen
When what is taboo is seen
When what is supernatural is seen
When what is unheard of is seen
When what can't be understood is seen
When what can't be explained is seen
It is then that Africans say their eyes have seen
their ears.

In these last days our eyes are seeing
our ears
The unthinkable is happening
The unfathomable is happening
Parents have sexual relations with their children
Men have sexual relations with animals
What happened in Sodom and Gomorrah is
happening before our very eyes
Our eyes are seeing our ears
Our eyes are seeing our ears.
