When Forever Ends Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

When Forever Ends

You left so many drops of rain ago.
Still in my heart you'll never know.
The vision lived within my dreams.
With hope I held my heart for thee.

Our empty bed whence you once lay.
Was grieved for loss of yesterday.
You penned the words so cruel, unkind.
Heartless, from a girl once mine.

Dear God, each day, I'd pray for you.
No solace came, the sadness grew.
Words of comfort labored faith;
From Preacher lies to fill God's plate.

False witness birthed a sinful hate.
Thenceforth my spirit damned thy wait.
Lover favors sought my heart.
Their impassive love awoke an art.

Instilled, my heart belongs to thee.
Forever bound, eternally.
In day my hate inflames unseen.
But, when I sleep; Of you I dream.
