DO NOT
take the pursuit of happiness
too seriously
it can bring you all the pain
instead...
take it for granted as it is
too taking you for granted, and so
if one morning it arrives and
comes to your house bringing nothing
not even a pack of jolibee for you
let her in,
all she can promise is just to be with
you and nothing more and
you are taking her for the lunch and
for the evening and you give all that you
have, your body, your loneliness, your
money, and you say with her
everything is bliss, and the the following
morning, still drunk with the sweet memories
you wake up from bed and
stretch your arms and feel the bliss of pains
around your head
only to find out that you are alone again,
she did it again
leaving you without any word at all,
no note on the table,
no trace of her perfume,
nothing.
it is this nothingness that she returned
to you after a glorious evening.
and back to reality,
you write: another lesson learned,
but i shall wait for her again.
