When I Am Alone Again Poem by stephanie Ann Lowe

When I Am Alone Again

I'm reminiscing.
about all the times we've struggled our way to somewhere near heaven,
with nothing to hide,
something to loose,
A caged bird that longs to fly for the sheer thrill of it.

you are the most strength i have known,
In that blessed twilight time, where the mind ceases it's what if scenarios,
when we're alone, and all i can feel are your hands,
and your warm skin on my back,
and all i can see is your face
even with My eyes closed,
i don't have to look at you,
to see you
to be one with you for a moment,
and slip into the stream
and swim along together

I'll see you still
after you've long since gone,
back to your respective apartment,
after all tomorrow is always a workday it seems....

I smell you on my pillow
when i snuggle down into it
i breathe you in, after i hear you shut my door,
and i am silent and satisfied
to dream of your love once more.
