When Justice And The People Are Free Poem by Rex-mayor Ubini

When Justice And The People Are Free

Rating: 5.0

Dearth claims the crown of the sky
Birds are deprived a space to fly
Seeds have no sand to sprout
Where lack reigns over as drought

Dearth claims the crown of the waters
Fishes had left their several strokes,
To the will of their dry throats
Craving for rivers to swallow

Oceans of idle hands,
Are raided by leprosy of vices
Ceded to a crafty crowd
Long repatriated from the farthest world

And here every thought walks not
Beyond the borders of its hut
But when affluence zooms by
Lack girrafes her neck
Over her window of barrenness
Yet her hollow eyes
Could barely see him
Yet she is not obsessed with jealousy,
Nor willing to marry him to share his glory,
They are neither foes nor friends,
They are both mocking birds.

Cross not to the easy path
Your air went into my eardrum
You said you can hear the mouth
Of the deafening wailing drum
Being beaten by the ruthe of dearth

You said time will set you free
From the shackles of corruption
And when at last you are free
Then and only then
You will be able to free these hands
From the chains of lack
So my hope smiles at your lips
Stretching my eyes to that day
When Justice and the people are free.

You said time will set you free From the shackles of corruption And when at last you are free Then and only then You will be able to free these hands From the chains of lack So my hope smiles at your lips Stretching my eyes to that day When Justice and the people are free. A lovely poem.
