When moisture descends through your ceiling,
You will find out it is very hard dealing
With neighbors who happen to live upstairs,
And convincing them to hasten repairs.
They would say, ‘let us wait to determine the source,
We will ultimately do repairs, of course.
Water sometimes creeps upwards like a snake,
Would you unfairly demand, our floors to break?
Besides, it is winter; rainwater can move
Horizontally, which we need to prove.
Let's wait for the summer to eliminate rain,
So that only three culprits would remain—
The hot water, the cold water, and the drain,
Though differentiating them would still be a strain'.
By then, you would have adapted to the moisture
And wouldn't mind some damage to your furniture;
You would be convinced that the deal was fair
As long as they had promised to repair.
