When The Ocean Is Still Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

On the canvas of the ocean
There is no jumping up and down
All waves are cancelled
All fish are quarantined
Dolphins are hypnotized
All other animals are anesthetized
Frolicking is not allowed
The waves are not even allowed to kiss the beach
The fishermen are paralyzed
Everything seem to be painted
And the artist seem to be nowhere to be seen
It's a peaceful scenery
A place of order, peace and pure relaxation
Even the birds seem to be frozen in the air
It's the power of stillness
When the ocean is still
The universe falls asleep
