When The Wine Got Exhausted
There, in the congregation, I sat
Thinking in snatches and so, lost
Only to fuse into another realm:
'You can do it, you know' she said,
'Even before my time? ' he refuted
'Let all righteousness be so, now! ' both agreed.
'Imagine! This wine is special,
Better than the previous ones,
Special in fragrance; mild at heart,
Joy unspeakable wraps them both
I guess a shame has been averted,
Yes, the union is re-phrased at last
That their pride explodes greatly,
Now they raise their heads abroad
Holding a note very significant:
'What God has joined together...'
The assunder had long tarried
Because they had the wine in full.
Gradually, they sip it to nought!
Then, I woke up into reality,
'Now Your Suffering Continues'
The voices around echoed loudly
Even to the dread of the duo.
Fear grips them; highly hopeless
And their wisdom becomes follies
For they have run out of wine.
Things have fallen apart for them,
They now tread on naked soles,
What an abiku-joy they had!
Should I blame it on myopia? No!
Perhaps their foundation is faulty
Today's regret, the joy of yesterday
What a quick memorable regret!
When they had the wine:
Hyporcisy bred their friendship,
Deceit becomes the allies of truth
Pretence viels true perseverance
Their heart welcomes all attitude
There seemed not a guile in them,
What a sweet experience!
Now that the wine is exhausted:
All faults attract urgent attention
Liberty, not be taken for granted
All becomes well that ends well
Being a story for the gods.
What a saga to ever be recounted!
