When The World Spun Backwards. Poem by Elle Jay E..

When The World Spun Backwards.

Running on empty, requiring pain.
I was wishing the whole world away.
Shorts and a Tee walking around town.
I knew I was letting everyone down.
I forgot about them all.
My family and friends.
And did the things I thought time would mend.
I didnt look at it fully.
But I remember the shock in their eyes.
When I saw their faces when they realized my disguise.
They didnt know before.
The way I used to be.
Until they found the blades.
That weren't just for me.
It wasn't meant to hurt them.
It was to help our souls be free.
But its taking longer now.
Stuck with that bad memory.
The scars are there for life.
Inside and out.
But only friends and family.
Will hear you now.
They can listen and ponder.
What its all about.
But whats done is done.
And you cant take back the past.
Thats when the world spun backwards.
Its hard to forget.
Just remember.
You're never alone.
