We use to pray for a students good grades
And we prayed when they went to learn trades,
We prayed for a child who was sick
And we prayed for a student on a school trip.
We use to pray for a student taking a test
We would pray for them to do their very best,
And we prayed for them to have a good day in school
And we payed for them to follow the good conduct rule.
We use to pray for our student's school team
We would pray for that winning dream,
And for them to have a winning day
We would also always pray.
We would pray that they be safe on the school bus
And we would pray that they wouldn't swear, bully or cuss,
But, now sadly a new prayer we are taught
We now pray that in school our students are not shot.
