When You'Re Not Sober Poem by Sara Hol

When You'Re Not Sober

You hung me out to dry
as I had no tears left to fall.

I felt abandoned and unloved
as the darkness enveloped me
leaving my being cold.

Reality shook my world
as your words consumed me
with sorrow.

The familiar pain tore open my chest
as I tried to build my barcade
back up.

The reflection of the bottle
brought back a million memories,
I tried to shake them away
but deja vu remained.

I don't know why you insist on this behavior..
what are you hiding from?
All I know if when you're not sober
it feels as if hell is freezing over.
