The saddest words
I ever heard
Is when you said
Goodbye to me

You spoke those words
So very slowly
They hit me like a boulder
They knocked me off my feet

I just wasn't sure
You said those words to me
But after thinking for a while
Suddenly I could see

I haven't treated you lately
The way that I should
I should have been more attentive
I should have understood

That when you love someone
They really need to know
All your love and affection
To them should always show

I know I have been negligent
In sharing my feelings with you
But I promise that from here on out
That's something I'll never again do
