Where Are My Friends Poem by Francis Duggan

Where Are My Friends

Where are my friends my friends not here today
And I need them now where are they anyway?
I once had friends on every street in town
But now I've none and none know me since I'm down.

In better times when I had cash to spend
People liked me and I had many friends
They used me for gain and they drank my beer
But now I'm down and my friends all disappear.

Where are my friends the friends I thought were true?
They were the friends the friends I never knew
Those so called friends are not my friends no more
And I'm now the one they've chosen to ignore.

Where are my friends when I need them where are they?
Now that I'm poor from me they've turned away
Perhaps they've found themselves another friend
One with heaps of money on them for to spend.
