Where Are The Shoulders When You Cry? Poem by William F Glennon

Where Are The Shoulders When You Cry?

I think of those cold nights.
The sleepless hours. Feelings of
emptiness in my heart, only the sounds of
my heart pumping life into me.

I see inside my heart when I hide
from this world. I pray you'll be there
when my heart will unfurl.

Comfort me when my tears drop.
Hold me as I lay my head on your shoulder.
God knows I need a friend as I grow older.
